The Queen

The Queen rose from the ashes of her throne , walked past the giant pillars standing upright .She crossed the beautiful royal gardens that bear the new spring in their heart. The flower trodden underfoot cried in ecstasy "How soft is her feet!". The Queen turned back and saw the debris of the dazzling palace she lived in.She wished to go back in search of her lost soul in the remains. She thought it will be somewhere there. But she had crossed the palace gates of which she was not aware .
The Queen felt fire being poured over her ,she looked at the sun standing still in the crowded street....The sun had already hidden behind a dark cloud but The Queen saw it glowing...her lips curved in a smile for a moment ,then faded.People stared at her , why does the queen wander in the streets! They came with intrigue but she saw no one. She left them behind and went on.
The queen walked northwards. Her trailing black rob hooked on a thorn.A passerby exclaimed " Your white gown is beautiful".
The Queen stopped at the river bank and sat by the small rock , careful not to wet her feet. She closed her eyes...tears rolled down one after the other and died in her lips. The Queen sobbed untill her eyes drained the last drop of tear and she couldn't breath more. She saw the river flooding...she thought it was because of her tear and the river did not tell her the truth. She leaned forward and saw her image in the river. The wrinkled skin and dried lips reminded her the drought of her life. The girls who came to fetch water whispered among themselves "Look at that woman ,she is gorgeous" .
"Oh , The Queen startled when the horse hooves came closer , she stood up . It was the King .She cried "Oh, my beloved" , but the cry died in her throat, the horse did not stop .The King did not turn his face to see her.The Queen knew he was in search of her but he will never find. She stared at the river again , at her blemished face till it was dark. Then she melted into the darkness.
